Unlike most Vitamin C supplements, Fushi Natural Vitamin C is derived from natural sources and is made with extracts of Amla fruit and Acerola berries.
In India, the Amla fruit (Phyllanthus emblica L.), is one of the most frequently used ingredients in traditional medicine. Also known as Indian Gooseberry, Amla is widely cultivated in Pakistan, India, China, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Malaysia. The Amla in this product has been sourced from India and provides a natural source of Vitamin C. The Amla fruit itself usually eaten raw or as a pickle, or jam, but it is quite sour.1
We've also used Acerola (Malpighia emarginata DC.) as a second natural source of Vitamin C in this product. Also known as the West Indian cherry, it comes from small cherry like fruit that grow on an evergreen shrub, that are bright red when ripe. Like Amla, these little berries can be quite sour2, so these convenient capsules capture the vitamin C without the astringent taste! Finally, we've added bioflavonoids from the bitter orange citrus fruit Citrus aurantium L.
Vitamin C is well known for its wide range of health supporting properties. It plays a key role in supporting normal immunity, helps reduce the feelings of tiredness and fatigue and can help improve iron absorption from food. Vitamin C also contributes to the normal formation of collagen, important in gum, cartilage, bone and skin health.
